SciFest is back at Illinois Valley Community College from 7 to 9 this Friday night.
The annual event hosted by IVCC’s CHEM/STEM Club is free and features science experiments including a fluidized sand bed, a giant Newton’s Cradle, a Ruben’s Tube and a screen printer.
Hands-on experiments and demonstrations in chemistry, biology, geology, and physics include Dr. Matthew Johll testing his strength against the imploding barrel.
The event draws hundreds of young students and parents each year. For information, call (815) 224-0468.
