If you want to enjoy fireworks along Water Street in Peru, keep hoping for dry weather
Peru Recreation Board Chairman Ray Zborowski says it’s the river or nothing and there is no backup plan for the July 3rd fireworks if the launch site is underwater. Right now the river is forecast to fall back below its flood stage this weekend. Zborowski says the 15 day forecast is favorable.
With the fireworks company coming from out of state, they’ll need to know by the end of the month if the Water Street fireworks are happening or not. If flooding isn’t an issue but it rains on July 3rd, a rain date for the Peru fireworks is July 4th.
The Water Street fireworks will include food vendors and kids games but no alcohol.
