Princeton's Police Chief Tom Root retires at year's end. His boss, Mayor Joel Quiram had glowing words to say in a Facebook post. Root has made sure his officers had the very best technology to perform their duties. He supported public safety school programs and St. Jude's annual motorcycle ride, is a retired Military Veteran, co-founder of the “Flags of Freedom”, and a member of the Moose, Elks, and Illinois Valley Association of Chiefs of Police.
Quiram reminded readers that Root was a key player and coordinator in the BuEComm consolidation dispatch transition. Root was honored with a retirement party back on the 15th.
