It’s been a decade since the city pool in Peru was open. The city’s mayor thinks its time to have the pool discussion again.
During his “State of the City Address” Monday night, Scott Harl said a new police station and full-time parks and recreation/special events director are needs. Among the wants, is a new city swimming pool.
At a Finance Committee meeting May 8th, Harl is inviting folks to city hall to talk about a future pool. He says he’s not committing to one but thinks folks who want one should bring their ideas.
In 2014, a question was put on the ballot about raising taxes to build a new swimming pool. Fifty-eight percent of Peruvians who voted said no thanks.
