The dog involved in two different attacks in La Salle was up to date with shots and registration.
That’s according to the La Salle Police Department who had one of their officers bit by a pit bull mix near the intersection of 11th Street and Creve Couer. The officer was there after the same dig had bit a home inspector that entered the house earlier in the day Thursday. The inspector was there because the house had been hit by a truck a few days ago and suffered damage to its foundation.
Both the home inspector and officer were treated at Illinois Valley Community Hospital for wounds. They each were released after getting stitches.
The man living at the home where the dog was, Steve Christakes says the dog was surprised and simply protecting its home. He also claims he didn’t know the inspector was coming to the home when he did.
Christakes says the dog will be quarantined and eventually put down.
