Things don’t always go fast when it comes to court cases.
Former La Salle County deputy, 47-year-old Lowell “Max” Ambler was in a Lee County Courtroom Monday and the judge agreed to postpone again a pretrial conference until January 31st. Ambler of Earlville faces seven felony charges including home invasion and kidnapping. He went on the run in October of last year after allegedly violating an order of protection against a woman he was supposed to stay away from in Compton. Ambler eventually surrendered to police in Earlville after a standoff and allegedly stealing a vehicle at gunpoint while on the run in Will County.
He remains locked up in jail.
