La Salle County Sheriff's Department

More details have been released about crashes the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office says were alcohol-related.

Back on Sunday morning deputies were called to a report of a vehicle hitting a barn on Route 34 near Mendota.  Officers think 28-year-old Alyssa Hopps of LaMoille lost control on a curve and drove into a Morton building and a parked semi.  She was ticketed for DUI along with driving uninsured.  Hopps wasn’t hurt.

On Monday morning police and paramedics were called to a rollover along a county road near Ottawa.  Deputies say they found a crashed vehicle left abandoned.  After a search, the alleged driver was found hiding out near the PetSmart Distribution Center.  Twenty-one-year-old Tyler Chismarick of Ottawa was ticketed for DUI, leaving the scene of an accident and driving uninsured.  He wasn’t hurt and was released with a court date.
