The area north of I-80 in Peru seems to be a hotbed of police activity. This week alone, three people have been arrested in the area.
On Monday afternoon, 30-year-old Carlie Rivera of Mendota was popped for theft under 500 dollars. Peru police say she shoplifted from the Clock Tower Shell gas station north of Interstate 80 in that city. She was released with a notice to appear.
Late night Tuesday in the same area, Peru police conducted a traffic stop of 22-year-old Aurora Chaidez (HI-dez)-Moreno of DePue and cited her for driving while her license was suspended and Unlawful Use of a License.
And early Thursday morning, police stopped 29-year-old Steven Helton of Spring Valley at Route 251 and May Road, and charged him with driving while HIS license was suspended.
All three were released with notices to appear.
